We got a pack-n-play from craigslist today. I really like it because it is very lightweight, folds pretty small and I think it would work well for camping too. The shade comes off so you can have no shade, half shade, or completly covered which would be nice for when used outside. It has a zipper door on the front so you can use it as a play area if you want them to go in or out but the zipper does lock so they stay inside too.
I am still not sure if we are going to use this or the crib when the baby is really little. I am debating whether to make a hexagon shaped mattress for it out of foam because there is not a lot of padding built in. It fits very nicely in the middle of our room. I like it a lot and it is really portable.

Nice! Sophie has never had a crib because it seems like every crib we buy gets recalled :) We co-slept the first few months and now she sleeps in the pack and play every night. We plan on switching her straight from that to a toddler bed in about a year.
